THE EU CYBERSECURITY LEGAL FRAMEWORK: THE IMPACT OF DATA PROTECTION AND CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE ON THE ICT MARKET

Abstract: The seminar explains the current legal and political approach of the EU toward data protection and cybersecurity. Firstly, it provides a description of the current legal framework and of the upcoming regulations. Secondly, it analyses the impact of these legal constraints on cybersecurity and in particular to offensive security, red teaming, vulnerability assessment and penetration test. The seminar is held in English.

Speaker: Dr.Andrea Monti is adjunct professor of Digital Law at the University Gabriele d'Annunzio of Chieti-Pescara (IT). A criminal lawyer expert in cybersecurity legal issues and data protection, he teaches at the Second Degree Master on IT Law at Rome-Sapienza University and lectures on these topics in Italy and abroad. He recently co-authored with Raymond Wacks, emeritus professor of Law and Legal Theory at Hong Kong university, the books "COVID-19 and Public Policy in the Digital Age (Routledge) and "Protecting Personal Information" (Hart Publishing).
