Biography: Roberto Baldoni is a full professor in computer science on leave from the University of Rome La Sapienza. He acted from Jan 2018 to August 2021 as Deputy Director General at the Presidency of the Ministry Council of Italy in charge of developing the National Cybersecurity Architecture. In August 2021, He has been appointed by Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi as Director-General of the newborn National Cybersecurity Agency established by Decree-Law 82/2021. 

From 1991 to 2017, Roberto Baldoni conducted research (from theory to practice) in the fields of distributed, pervasive and p2p computing, middleware platforms and information systems infrastructure with a specific emphasis on dependability and security aspects (here for the complete cv). He is the founder of MIDdleware LABoratory (MIDLAB) and he has been PI of many national and international research projects for an overall funding of over 20 million euros.

Roberto Baldoni recently led the public-private working groups developing the "Cybersecurity National Framework" and the "National Cybersecurity Essentials" (in Italian). He also has been the founder, together with Camil Demetrescu, of Cyberchallenge.IT. Roberto Baldoni invented and co-edited the Italian White Book on Cybersecurity (in Italian).
