Abstract: Disruption has recently become a buzzword and is often confused with technological acceleration or innovation. Modern societies are the result of numerous changes that happened in the past and that keep having an impact on our lives. However, not all of these changes are similar in their nature or effect on societies. With the rapid emergence of new products, services, and know-how, we are surrounded by technological innovation more than ever before. And yet, we understand so little about the underlying concepts supporting these changes.

During this seminar, students will learn how to define and differentiate concepts surrounding innovation, digital disruption and technological advances. They will understand the relationship between technology and innovation and learn how to design a robust business model. They will later have the opportunity to apply their new understanding of innovation to a real-case scenario which will be the final deliverable of this class.
